Tinder Down?

The Threat actors from Sudan, have now claimed to have brought down the Online Dating App - Tinder. The groups official channel carries a post at 2:00AM IST and Downdetector shows Tinder being reported to be down during 1AM - 4AM. Later, the group stopped the attacked, claiming they are 'Satisfied with this amount - 3hrs' and will attack the company (Tinder) again.

The Power of Anonymous Sudan

Born from religious motivations, Anonymous Sudan has rapidly gained notoriety for their aggressive cyber-attacks against various Swedish and Danish institutions under the hashtags #OpSweden and #OpDenmark. All of this in response to far-right activist Rasmus Paludan's controversial acts of burning copies of the Quran, demanding Sweden's admittance into NATO.

Their cyber rampage didn't stop there. Earlier in March 2023, they launched a multi-day attack campaign against medical facilities, universities, and airports in France. This was retaliation for a cartoon depiction of the prophet Muhammad, which referenced the controversial Charlie Hebdo caricatures.

Anonymous Sudan didn't shy away from boasting their exploits either, leaking sensitive data from several airlines and payment providers. They claimed to have infiltrated these organizations and put up the pilfered data for sale.

From Tinder to Elon Musk

After leaving Scandinavian Airlines' digital presence in shambles and knocking Tinder off the grid, Anonymous Sudan has decided to swim in deeper waters. Their latest announcement could potentially send ripples across the tech world, as they have promised to force Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest individual and the mind behind companies like Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and Twitter, to make Starlink available in Sudan.

It's an audacious plan, but if their track record is any indication, this might be more than just an empty threat. Anonymous Sudan's previous successful exploits have proven that even the seemingly untouchable can be touched.

The Russian Connection

While there's a lot of speculation about the group being a Russian government false flag operation, evidence supporting this claim is circumstantial at best. In an interview with a Danish journalist, the leader of Anonymous Sudan confirmed fluency in Arabic, lending credibility to their Sudanese roots.
