Swansea City are set to make Sam Clucas their first signing since the departure of Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton this week.
The Hull man did not feature for the Tigers on Saturday and is set to have his medical with the Swans - who are back in action against MK Dons in the Carabao Cup tonight - ahead of a move believed to be in the region of £15m to the Liberty Stadium.
And left-back Stephen Kingsley could head in the opposite direction, with Leonid Slutsky's side thought to be eager to bolster their defensive options.
It has emerged that the Swans are also pursuing a deal to sign versatile full-back Santiago Arias from PSV Eindhoven this summer.
As far as the Bluebirds are concerned, they continue to prepare for their second round Carabao Cup clash with Burton at Cardiff City Stadium.
Neil Warnock is expected to make numerous changes from the team that beat Wolves at Molineux on the weekend and it set to give a further update on any additional ins or outs in the Welsh capital.

Familiar face to come up against Swansea
Former Swan Joe Walsh could well feature for the hosts tonight.
The Welsh defender spent three years at the Liberty, but failed to break into the first team, leaving the club in 2012.
Swans could name strong line-up for MK Dons
The League Cup is traditionally an opportunity for managers to rotate their squads, and offer chances to players that may otherwise be sitting on the fringes of the first team.
However, Swans boss Paul Clement isn’t keen to tinker too much tonight.
“I don’t anticipate doing massive changes for our League Cup game in midweek, we have to work on our game on all sides and then next we have a trip to Crystal Palace. That becomes really important.”
Can Cardiff continue their promotion charge?

Can they keep up their good form and mount a realistic challenge for promotion?

Nigel Clough to ring the changes
The Bluebirds face Burton tonight for the second time this month having already beaten the Brewers on the opening day of the new season.
And Nigel Clough has revealed he plans to make numerous changes for tonight’s match.
Here’s what he had to say to Burton’s official club website.
“It’s a strange one for Ben Turner being out for five matches and then being drawn against his old club, so he will be looking forward to going back down there and playing - but I think he’s ready to play against anybody as it’s the end of last season since he played a competitive game.
“We have missed him for the five games and he will definitely start at Cardiff. He won’t play the whole game but let’s get him back on the pitch and then he’s in contention for Saturday.
“Sean Scannell will start, with the view to giving him 45-60 minutes - whatever he needs to be ready for Saturday if selected.
“Joe Sbarra, Connor Ripley, Luke Varney and Tom Flanagan will probably start and we will work it from there. Harry Campbell will be on the bench.”
